Honoring Family Tradition & The Name "The Port"
Some may wonder “why is this truck named The Port?” To the owner, this question is a joy to answer. Third generation restauranteur, Ana Maria, learned everything she knows about the industry from her family’s chain of Mexican restaurants, popular in the south sound – Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurants. Their chain began with their opening of their first location in 1985 by her grandparents, Ana Maria & Clemente Andrade. Their five children followed suit and opened 15+ more locations. The customers that would patron one of her parent’s restaurants, nicknamed that Puerto Vallarta location “The Port.” This is where the name originated – she wanted to keep a little piece of the name, while offering a dining experience entirely different from what her family had done.
